Russia’s Sberbank sues Mechel over 37 mln rbl debt

Ìå÷åëMOSCOW, Jun 15 (PRIME) -- Russia’s biggest lender Sberbank has submitted a claim over a 37 million ruble debt of metals producer Mechel and its affiliate Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant to the Irkutsk Region Arbitration Court, according to court documents seen by PRIME Monday.

The matter of the claim was not disclosed, the hearing has not been scheduled yet.

Sberbank and its affiliates earlier submitted about 40 claims against Mechel and its subsidiaries to courts. The largest one, amounting to 3.8 billion rubles, will be considered June 22 by the Moscow Arbitration Court.

Sberbank is the third largest creditor of Mechel. Unlike two other large creditors, VTB and Gazprombank, it is not satisfied with Mechel’s debt restructuring proposals.
